Founding Principle

The pioneers and founders of Senshu University, Nagatane Soma, Inajiro Tajiri, Tanetaro Megata, and Shigetada Komai were sent to the United States by the central and local governments of Japan at the dawn of the Meiji era (1868-1912) to receive training in Western academic disciplines. The establishment of the forerunner to the University was motivated by the fo
