Library

The Senshu University Library has locations on both Ikuta Campus and Kanda Campus. The Main Library and Auxiliary Library are located on Ikuta Campus, Kanda Branch Library, Knowledge Base, and the Law School Branch Library are on Kanda Campus. Information about these libraries’ collections can be found online through the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) system. Most physical copies of materials are available for use in an open-shelf format to meet the needs of users.

The Main Library houses materials relating to the humanities and social sciences, as well as a wide range of other materials. In addition, the library contains group study rooms and private rooms, as well as a browsing plaza where users can read magazines and newspapers. There is also a large collection of audiovisual materials, which can be accessed in the audiovisual corner.

The Auxiliary Library on Ikuta Campus opened in 2001. It operates as a closed-stack library, so its materials can only be accessed by requesting them to be delivered to the Main Library or other library branches.

The Kanda Branch Library on Kanda Campus primarily houses materials relating to politics and law, but also has novels, guidebooks, magazines, and newspapers.

The Knowledge Base on Kanda Campus opened in 2020 and houses academic books for students, including recently published novels and guidebooks.

The Law School Branch Library on Kanda Campus opened in 2004 and mainly provides services to students in the Law School. As such, the library has a large collection of materials and databases relating to law, bills, and legal cases.

The Michel Bernstein Collection

The Michel Bernstein Collection comprises of materials relating to the French Revolution. It contains approximately 43,500 items, including records of the Revolutionary Committee, bills and decrees issued during that period, pamphlets, manuscripts, and satirical illustrations. The university library has an online catalog, so most of the above information can be accessed through the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) system.
